Gîte de la Montagne Enchantée

We felt like we were arriving at a family home, with a much closer connection to the owners than you usually get at a holiday cottage. The private bathroom is separate but right by their living area. Our spacious country-style room had its own outside entrance, and the cottage sits out in the countryside. The welcome was fantastic. Breakfast was generous and delicious, especially the homemade waffles with fresh raspberries.

Louise and Jean-Roch made our two nights in the Native American-themed room feel really special. We were on a road trip exploring Lac Saint-Jean with our 7-month-old baby, and the location worked perfectly. They welcomed us so warmly and were incredibly kind. Breakfast was homemade, generous, and a real treat. We’ll remember our stay at La Montagne Enchantée for a long time. Thank you both, you’re wonderful people. The house was magnificent, carefully decorated, and spotlessly clean. We spent two days there, and the homemade breakfasts and time with Louise and Jean Rock made it hard to leave. Louise welcomed us like family, and Jean Rock made us feel the same way. We left with almost tears in our eyes. We loved it, and will often tell people about you and your two cats. Thank you for such a wonderful time in Canada.

The place is clean, well stocked, and simple, and it's run by genuinely lovely people. The hosts were kind and helpful while still giving us space. I especially want to thank them for organizing my father's birthday party. That thoughtful gesture means a lot, and I won't forget it. If you're looking for quiet, surrounded by nature and far from the grid, this is a great place. We'll definitely return.
