Knights Inn Midland, ON

It was quiet, and the rooms looked and smelled clean. The Front Desk staff were courteous and helpful. We had booked two rooms but only needed one. Even though we canceled the extra room at the last minute, they still refunded us some of the money when they didn't have to. It seems like a family-owned and run business. Keep your money local, this place deserves it!

I was glad I'd brought vinegar and water spray, because the room was gross and I cleaned everything. The second-floor balcony slants and looks ready to cave in, and there's a soft spot at the top of the staircase. This place seems ready for a lawsuit, SMH. At least it was only $84.00.

After a week here, the main problem for me was noise in the early and late hours. Everything else was fine: the staff were friendly and respectful, and quick to help when needed. The owner was respectful when I was respectful. It seems to be run by just one person, so be patient with him. He does a great job apparently handling everything himself. There aren't any motel amenities at the moment, so you'll need to go to nearby stores for food or other things. I'd come prepared with what you need. It seems worth what you pay, and overall it's not that bad. I'm here because I'm homeless and in transition to a place. I'm a light sleeper. By 6am, it's definitely not quiet. You can hear a lot outside, and people getting up early don't seem considerate. More than once, people had really loud conversations right outside my door, sounding like they were right beside me. The outside lights are so bright that I kept waking up thinking it was morning. If you have trouble sleeping, I'd suggest the Super 8. This place costs a lot for what I'd call baseline comfort. On my third night, I was woken again before 6am by loud noise above me. If you're a light sleeper, I'd ask for an upper-level room. The people above seem inconsiderate of those below, and constant LOUD noise for over an hour gets irritating when you can't sleep. Also, within the first 30 minutes after arriving, a deal happened right outside our room. Be aware there are dealers and users around this motel and across the street at the Silver Star motel.

There were random holes in the walls, and both the smoke alarm and what looked like the door's deadbolt had been taken out, which felt a little sketchy. The rooms were relatively clean, which was good. Overall, it wasn't bad, and it definitely lives up to the motel name 🤷
