Valley Motor Lodge

I booked four rooms for a family wedding eight weeks ahead. When I called the week before, I learned the reservation had been cancelled, with no apology at all. We were left scrambling to find somewhere to stay. Is there a zero-star rating?

The room had a dank, stale smell as soon as I walked in, and the pictures show how poorly the tub and sink were cleaned. If this is what counts as clean at the motel, I can't recommend it. I only stayed because it was late and I needed somewhere to rest before the long drive home. Next time I'll sleep in my car and keep the $85. Never again.

The staff are awesome and willing to do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. Our room was clean and affordable, and the restaurant food was great. We got in late without any trouble, checked in, then relaxed with drinks and a game of pool. We'll definitely be back!

The room turned out clean, nicely decorated, and had mostly new amenities. It looked recently renovated and has a lot of potential. For the price, it was a good deal. The woman who checked us in was very nice and happily showed us a room first. We had called ahead and paid directly, which was cheaper than booking online. We weren't sure about the place at first and nearly turned around at the front entrance. The leaking freezers out front and the caution wet-floor sign made a poor first impression. It was still like that in the morning, and the owners need to address it beyond putting up a sign.
