HELEN C.
The TV was the main letdown. It only had one channel, the news, and the remote only worked for the power button. I would’ve gladly paid extra for more channels. Maybe it was just my remote, but the lobby TV showed the same thing. The wifi was slow, though it worked. The hotel is dated, but I liked the beautiful, distinctive decor and think the lobby is just right as it is. The room floors and walls are what could use updating. For the price, this was 5/5. My room and sheets were clean, and the front staff welcomed me warmly as soon as I arrived. The cleaners work hard. I came from a small town far away for medical travel and felt safe and welcome enough to return for that purpose. I don’t usually travel, and they explained everything about the hotel at check-in. There were several phones in the room, including one in the bathroom, plus vending machines on site. It was easy to get an Uber or food delivery right outside the front door.

The room had a polished, comfortable feel, with lovely lighting and a well-planned layout. It was classy, very clean, and well equipped with a fridge, bar area and sink, coffee machine, and bottled water. A couple of details fell short. They couldn’t provide wine glasses or a corkscrew for my bottle, and the fireplace didn’t work, which would have added to the atmosphere. Still, I had a very comfortable stay and a great room. With a little more care on those small things, it would easily be a 5-star experience.

The room was clean, cozy, well-stocked, and incredibly comfortable. We felt welcomed and cared for, and the price was unbelievable for the service. We’ll recommend this hotel again and again and will absolutely stay here on future visits. Thanks for looking after a very tired and hungry pregnant guest. Our flight was cancelled in the recent wave of Toronto airport cancellations, leaving us without accommodation. I was 17 weeks pregnant. At 3:00am, after several sold-out hotels, we finally reached this one. From the first phone call, the staff reassured us that rooms were available and told us to come right over. We arrived by taxi nearly at 4:00am, and they kindly offered a free late checkout, knowing how late we’d arrived and how exhausted we were. The next morning, we nearly slept through breakfast. We hurried down with just 15 minutes left, expecting to miss it, but a staff member stepped in right away. Within 10 minutes, they brought hot food: boiled eggs, French toast, fresh bacon, and fruit, and kept offering more. It meant so much, especially with a long drive ahead to reach family two hours away, since flying was no longer an option.

The room was musty and hot all night because the temperature control didn’t work. Aircraft noise came through clearly, with little sound insulation. Combined with the parking and staff response, these conditions made for a disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. During my visit to the Radisson Airport West, parts of the hotel were being used by a movie production. I understood the hotel had rented space for it and accepted the noise and extra activity, but the setup seemed to affect guests, especially parking. Most on-site spaces were blocked with plastic cones for the production, even though many were unused. I was traveling with a child and a lot of luggage, so I asked for a spot closer to the entrance. The front desk staff member said I could speak with the manager. When I agreed, he said he was the manager, went back inside, and told me nothing could be done. I was directed to park across the street in a nearby church lot. Eventually I approached the production team myself and explained the need for closer access with a child. They were extremely courteous and immediately let me use one of the reserved but unused spaces. It was surprising to get that consideration from a third party rather than hotel staff. Several online reviews mention vehicle thefts in the area, an issue the hotel has acknowledged in its public responses. Given that, being sent to park away from the hotel didn’t feel reassuring. Renting space to a movie production shouldn’t compromise the hotel’s responsibility to guests. Restricting visibly available on-site parking at the expense of guest access, safety, or convenience was concerning.

The smoke detectors had been pulled out of our room and the hallway, and staff didn’t seem concerned. The washroom wasn’t cleaned, housekeeping didn’t address it, and the TV and remote didn’t work. I had a baby and toddler with me and called the front desk for pillows and blankets. After waiting 45 minutes for someone to pick up, I was told to come downstairs and get them. The service was horrible. This wasn’t worth staying at, and I’d have been better off in a hostel or motel.
