The rooms, location, and amenities are great, but what happened to us was so unfair and badly handled that I want other people considering this hotel to know about it. I was there with a university ski club. Some rooms were loud and there was partying at night, which can happen when a hotel knowingly books a large group of young students. My room wasn’t one of them. I was out until 1am, and my roommates were asleep by the time I got back. I made pasta and offered some to friends, giving them my room number and asking them by text to come quietly, pick it up at the door, and not make noise. I still have those texts. A few people went to the wrong door and knocked loudly enough to wake unrelated guests. Instead of holding those people responsible, staff blamed me. They kicked me out without warning or hearing my side, and kept my deposit. My roommates were thrown out too, even though one had been asleep and the other was watching TV. Management later said we had been warned twice. My roommates, who were strangers to me, all say no one came to our door. If security had knocked or given a warning, someone would have noticed. The hotel chose to believe one security guard over several guests who all said we hadn’t been warned and weren’t making noise. They also refused to refund the night we lost when we were forced out of a room we’d paid for. The club had paid in cash, so I couldn’t seek compensation from my credit card company. They put us out late at night in a ski town with no notice, investigation, or compassion. Before leaving, we cleaned the room thoroughly because we didn’t want to give them a reason to take our deposit. They took it anyway. Some friends kicked out in similar circumstances couldn’t find another room and had to cut short the ski trip they’d been looking forward to for almost a year. They ended up alone on a two-hour bus ride in the dark, on a day they expected to be one of the best experiences of their student years. Students can be young and inconsiderate, but that doesn’t justify this kind of retaliation. We didn’t throw a party, damage the room, smoke inside or on the balcony, yell, play music, or have people over. I even left the hotel to smoke. I can’t think of anything we did that could justify being kicked out. If this is how they handle a misunderstanding, I can’t imagine how they handle something that really matters. As a frequent traveller, I’ve never seen this level of incompetence, prejudice, and lack of empathy toward paying guests. They’ve lost my business, and likely that of many club members. I’ll tell friends and family who ask about Tremblant to stay far away. When I first drafted this, I was staying across the street at Ermitage Du Lac, which had competitive prices, a last-minute room, and kind, understanding staff. A month and two revisions later, I’m staying at the Chateau Morrit, five minutes by car from the Cabriolet, with arguably nicer rooms and amenities for much less.

We were five people, with two queen beds and a sofa bed, and the staff were nice. They quickly brought towels, coffee, and other room-service items. The kitchen was a good size, and there are food stores about ten minutes away, plus a convenience store in the village. Gear lockers, a hot tub, and sauna were welcome perks. The hotel is right in the village, surrounded by shops, restaurants, snacks, and coffee, with maple on a stick right outside. The skating rink and lift loading point are also close, and when the mountain closed we could ski and snowboard back down. We’d like to return and stay at the same hotel.

The night fire alarm led to an evacuation, and when we got back our room was freezing, with no electricity, heat, or hot water. Staff gave us no help, updates, or solutions. The next day we missed a ski day while waiting, then were told to leave without any assistance finding another hotel. That lack of service, empathy, and professionalism made for a very disappointing stay. We chose this place because of its good reviews, but there’s no breakfast nearby, parking is expensive, and staff wouldn’t even help with a simple request for hot water for medication. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The one good thing for me was the convenient location. For the price, though, the place felt like a two-star hotel or worse. I’ve paid half as much elsewhere and felt like I was in a five-star hotel. Checking out took 30 minutes because they were handling early check-ins before 11am, while guests were still trying to leave. I’d asked for an early check-in a month ahead and didn’t get one myself. Getting to our room was another mess. Check-in took ages, with no clear directions after we parked, so we got lost in the underground lot and ended up back in tower 1. The man at the desk saw us return but let us wander. We had to ask again before he told us our room was in the other building. It took 45 minutes to finally get there. There was no information in the room about how to contact the front desk, so we had to go between the towers and wait in line. The pull-out couch felt like a pile of springs. The sauna had no working light and was pitch black, which felt creepy, and the hot tub was tiny and cramped. Tower 2 had no lobby, and its single elevator was painfully slow. I took the stairs from the top floor several times because it was faster. The room price just wasn’t worth the experience.
