Best Western Plus Montreal East

We were only here for one night, but had a very good stay. The room was clean and modern, with comfortable beds and a nice choice of pillows. It looked like the hotel had been renovated recently. The room was nicely equipped without being fancy, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I'd happily come back.

This has become my usual place when I'm in the city for work, mainly because its location works so well for me and puts the amenities I need nearby. The rooms are clean and modern, though I had to unplug the coffee maker to plug my computer in at the desk. The shower pressure was a little weak, but only a small issue. Breakfast costs about $12 and isn't included here or at most Montreal hotels, so I picked something up on the way instead. In warmer weather, I like having the outdoor seating area in back.

The building feels dated, though they've made some effort to improve the rooms. Ours was spacious, with high ceilings and a window that still opens, which was great for getting fresh air. The bed was fine, but the pillows felt lumpy, and the shower pressure was low. We also had to go downstairs ourselves to collect an extra blanket after asking for one, which had never happened to us before. Everything else met our needs. In Quebec, continental breakfast seems commonly charged separately, unlike in Alberta. At $12 plus tax per person, this one wasn't worth it unless convenience really matters to you. Whether the hotel suits you depends on what you expect.

The room was clean and roomy, but we both slept badly because the two beds had very soft mattresses that seemed old, with worn springs or foam. My wife and I woke up with sore backs. I hope management keeps up with mattress maintenance and replaces them regularly.
