The staff I met were all kind and helpful, and the man who checked me in made me feel welcome right away. My room was clean apart from one hair in the shower, and the bed was very comfortable. I ate at Roselys twice for breakfast. The food was great, the service was fantastic, and the prices were amazing for the quality. On the terrace, the bartender made me a fantastic negroni and remembered me the next evening at Nacarat bar. I wish I'd asked his name. I work in hospitality myself, so I really appreciated the whole experience.
The location is excellent, the beds are great, the rooms are comfortable, and the bathrooms are good. Morning housekeeping did a great job too. My stay at The Reine Elizabeth went well, and I was glad to try a historic hotel, but I left feeling it was merely fine. I booked through a Black Friday deal, yet the value still felt poor. At premium prices, it didn't deliver a premium experience. I've had much better service at Novotels and Mercures, despite their lower category. The staff were courteous, but the place felt like somewhere people were just passing through. Some of the things I expected were missing: there was little recognition of status beyond a pre-arrival email, no personalized welcome at check-in, and no welcome gift unless requested. When I asked, I got just two small chocolates. The explanation of facilities was very brief, and nobody mentioned concierge service. Information was missing too, including that Nacarat terrace would be closed on 28 May and that the pool had capacity limits. Facilities were hard to use, with long waits for the pool and for Roselys restaurant and a table, and few or no bell porters. There wasn't proper lobby space for guests. Food choices were limited: the eggs at breakfast were cold or poorly cooked, there was no buffet, only à la carte items, and drinks at Nacarat came without nuts. There was also no automatic evening turndown. The hotel didn't do anything wrong, but it didn't do much to live up to its premium image. I wouldn't likely return, and I'd be cautious about recommending it. For me, it was a 3.5-star stay: good, but probably not worth the money.
My stay at Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth was comfortable, pleasant, and memorable. The rooms were clean, service was high quality, and the staff were professional throughout. I especially want to thank Mr. Axel at the front desk. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel welcome with his warm manner, courtesy, and attention to detail. His helpful guidance and responsible approach made a real difference. I'd gladly choose this hotel again and recommend it to others.
Everyone we met at Fairmont Queen Elizabeth was kind and helpful, from the valet team to the cleaners, who were thoughtful as well. Our spacious, clean room was wonderful, and the concierge gold check-in was an incredible experience. The team went above and beyond, even leaving us a sweet dessert to celebrate our 10th Valentine's Day anniversary. We're so grateful for the lovely stay.
My room was spotless and modern, an easy 10/10. The Gold Lounge team were incredibly attentive and proactive, offering to make drinks and bring food without me even asking. This hotel is an exceptional place to stay in Montreal.
