The street noise was the biggest issue for me. I could hear traffic and people outside late into the night. There are some pubs around, and homeless people in the area, which adds to the noise. One afternoon, I returned to find a homeless person sitting right beside the front door asking for money. For a budget-friendly two-star hotel, it was impressively clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly, my queen-bed room was spotless, and I thought it offered good value for the price. But the bathroom was very small, with a tiny sink that was awkward to use, and there wasn’t much room to dry off after a shower. It wouldn’t be comfortable for a larger person. There’s no elevator, so you’ll have to carry your luggage up the stairs, and there’s no breakfast service. If you want a clean, no-frills place with excellent service and can manage the stairs and street noise, Hotel Le Deville is a solid budget option. Light sleepers, or anyone wanting more space and amenities, might prefer somewhere else.

The rooms were clean and the bedding was comfortable, though the hotel itself felt a little dated. I was a bit anxious when I first arrived, but Faouda, a student working there, made me feel at home. Her thoughtful recommendations led me to some amazing places to visit that were just what I was looking for. She brings such a warm, personal touch to the hotel. Thank you so much! 🙏

Hotel le Deville is a small place near the city center, and it’s not luxurious. What I wanted was somewhere clean to rest and sleep while enjoying Montreal at a reasonable price, and for that, I recommend it without hesitation. Downtown is within walking distance, and the Saint Laurent or Berri-UQAM metro stations are close by.

A lovely, large, clean room with an excellent shower. The location is excellent too, with a great donut place next door for breakfast and other food spots nearby. We’ll be back!
