I wish I'd read the previous review before booking. The staff member I met was helpful and the location was okay, though far from the metro. Still, I hardly slept for two nights because of the serious bedbug problem, which I know I'm not making up. I'm surprised it hadn't been dealt with after being reported. For two days afterward, I didn't dare go home until I'd cleaned myself up completely. There's no complimentary breakfast either.

The kitchen was the one drawback for my friend and me. It was relatively small, so we had to work our way around several people to cook, though it wasn't a huge problem. Otherwise, the hostel had a lively, alternative feel, friendly staff, and travelers from all over the world. It's in the heart of Vieux-Montréal, with an excellent location and a very affordable rate.

I had a private room and found the atmosphere really nice, with the place clean and comfortable. People staying in the dorms, including one with lots of beds, also seemed to have a very good impression.
