Hotel Le Cantlie Suites

Staff and the cleaning crew were friendly and accommodating, and when I told the front desk about the heating filter being completely full and the tub not draining, both issues were fixed immediately. We stayed four nights in February 2026. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. It had a kitchenette, and cooking never left a food smell in the room, so the ventilation was great. The price was reasonable, and there are attractions within walking distance or a quick Uber ride. The buffet had a good selection, but on both mornings we ate there, the bacon and eggs were out and took 25 minutes to replenish. The bacon was overcooked and greasy, so after that we ate elsewhere. When leaving, I noticed what looked like urine stains on the curtains. I'm no expert, but if that's what it was, the carpet may have been affected too. I'm not a fan of carpet in rooms. I meant to tell the front desk, but left in a rush and forgot. Apart from those issues, I had a great first trip to Montreal.

The location, suite layout, and valet were positives. But on my second trip, BETTY at the reception desk made the experience much worse. I found her rude, arrogant, and racially profiling, with no patience or humility toward guests. The sink and bathtub were clogged, room service was very slow, and they gave guests expired toiletries (photos attached). When I asked why they were expired, no explanation was offered. I was just told that's what they had. I'd say choose a better nearby hotel, like Best Western, instead of staying somewhere that doesn't make you feel welcome.

We had a great old guys' trip to watch a hockey game, and the hotel was excellent value. There are lots of quality restaurants and bars within walking distance. The place is a bit dated, but quiet, with comfortable beds, clean sheets, and hot water. The staff were pleasant, professional, and excellent. We'd definitely consider staying here again.

I planned my proposal to my partner at this hotel, and Kim made sure the room was decorated for the occasion and that everything went to plan. The team went above and beyond to make such an important moment in our lives feel perfect, and I'm incredibly grateful. The room was lovely and the hotel itself is beautiful. I couldn't have been happier, and the experience was amazing. I'd highly recommend it, whether for a quick vacation or your own engagement. They'll make sure everything is taken care of.
