The place was dirty and old, with a grimy bathtub and shabby furniture. Some lights didn't work, there was no ventilation, and the only AC unit was very small. The beds were uneven and broken, and there was no nearby parking. Overall, a really horrible experience and no cleanliness.

We enjoyed our short stay and got a very affordable price. The apartment is large, with several bedrooms, and sits at Mont-Royal and Parc, across from parc Mont-Royal. It's an old Montreal apartment, which may have charm for some, though it does feel dated; the bedrooms and bathroom have been renovated. Traffic is intense and makes it noisy, even though the windows insulate well. That's the tradeoff for being right in central Montreal. There was clearly some thought put into the decor, including several lovely lamps, but they weren't plugged in and there were no outlets nearby, so we couldn't use them. Remember that on weekdays you can't park on Avenue du Parc during rush hour, and the fines are steep. We also had to pay a security deposit, and it took a few days and several exchanges with the owners to get it back. Having booked through Expedia, I'd expected something more like a hotel, but this is an apartment.

It's a really nice, roomy apartment. Shame there's no parking.
