Tara Inn

I took a picture of the ad because it listed either a deluxe queen or a two double bed room for $95.00, but the man at the desk said that wasn't right. We ended up paying 110.00 for the cheaper room. I wanted the queen room with a full bathroom because we'd been traveling by bike in nasty weather and I hoped to warm up with a hot bath. The room and its furniture were in rough shape and badly in need of updating. The mattresses seemed very old, and although the shower may have been clean, it looked so dingy I wouldn't use it. The bathroom was too cramped to turn around in, and its door wouldn't close. There wasn't even a water glass. I had to ask for hangers, the towels were so skimpy they'd be better as rags, and the bottom sheet felt hard enough to hurt my skin. This is the first time I've written a review, but I felt I had to. Pay the extra $30.00 or so and stay somewhere else, you'll be glad you did.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and when a fuse blew in our room they fixed it quickly. The room was clean, the WiFi was decently fast, and the AC came in handy during the heat wave. Breakfast had a nice selection of food. A good choice for a quick stay in New Glasgow, I'd recommend it.

The deer living around the area were the highlight of my stay at the Tara Inn. Hopefully you'll spot them too. I think I was in a room that hadn't been renovated yet. It was a little dated, but still nice, and I liked the spacious shower and the amenities. There's room for a lot of improvement at the inn. The TV volume remote was hard to use and needed many button presses.

We booked at the last minute and got a room right away. The prices were reasonable, and we were happy with our two night stay. The rooms are older, but clean, and the beds were clean and comfortable enough. The staff were very friendly. I'd recommend it to anyone needing a room for a night or two.
