Met Hotel

Friendly, experienced staff and a clean, comfortable room. The walls aren’t soundproof, though, and it was a Friday night with a bar downstairs. I’m a senior, so... lol. I’m also still waiting for the $100.00 holding charge to be released. They say it’s the bank, and the bank told me to wait a week before starting an investigation. So I’m waiting. Columbia Station is just a one-minute walk away.

For someone like me who takes the bus, the location is really convenient, and Columbia Station is only two minutes away. That’s also why you hear the train, right up until 1am. We had a great stay, but I did miss having a microwave, which seems like an essential thing??? We managed to get hot water easily with the coffee maker instead.

I couldn’t get a quiet night here. The river-facing room was noisy the whole night, with bar patrons downstairs making a racket when the hotel bar closed and train whistles sounding in the early hours. The beds also didn’t have enough bedding, just a thin blanket and no duvet. The building feels pretty worn out and could use a clean and an update.

My sister and I were about to check in when she got an emergency call about her apartment building in Surrey and had to go home. We sent photos of the damage, and within minutes Genesis messaged to say that after speaking with his manager, they’d cancel the reservation without charging us. We’re grateful and amazed by the great customer service!
