Canadas Best Value Inn-Niagara Falls

The room was dirty, with dust and dirt everywhere and gross booger-like marks on the walls. The TV didn't work, and although they brought another, the Desk Lady couldn't hook it up, so we had to manage ourselves. The sliding door was broken and the curtains were torn. We needed more towels, too. The Desk Lady was very busy but nice. We booked three nights before seeing the place, but they only had us down for two, which was a good thing. Nasty. Just nasty. I guess you get what you pay for.

The room smelled like cigarettes, and when we lifted the mattress, there was built-up grime on the bed skirt along with latex gloves underneath. There wasn't even a fitted sheet. We had only dropped off our bags before going to dinner, and hadn't used the room, so I went to ask the owner for a refund and planned to stay elsewhere. He said too much time had passed and refused. First he said it had been three hours, but when I corrected him that it was less than two, he said it was his policy, even though it wasn't written anywhere. He offered another room, so I asked him to show us one and check it over. He unlocked one with other guests inside, then took us to a different room. It was better than the first, but still extremely bad. We only stopped here because the motel next door, where we were meant to stay, was closed for the night. I wouldn't stay here again. Use it as a last resort, since nearby motels cost the same.

Bugs all over the pillows were the worst part. I slept on top of the bed and didn't even look under the covers. The room was in rough shape, with damaged drywall, missing light socket levers, and dirt. The Wi-Fi was decent. I didn't expect much from a motel, but the reservation system felt bogus. You can think you've booked a non-smoking room, when it's only a preference and depends on availability, with extra charges for requests.

The staff are friendly, and the motel is clean. The price is very reasonable, and clean enough for children to sleep here. It's a 5-10 minute drive from the major attractions and a five-minute walk to Canada One outlet. Taxi rides to attractions shouldn't cost much.
