Last year, my ex-boyfriend and I rented a room from this woman for $1,300. She openly admitted we were paying someone else’s rent. She yelled at us for following the rules while the other tenant didn’t, and she yelled at me several times in front of other people. She was the same way as she had been back in 2023. When I told her I was moving out and called the cops, she told the tenant to lie and say I’d assaulted him with air freshener. She was mad about losing money. Because they lied to the cop, I now have to pay a lawyer $1,575. Please be aware of the woman who owns this place. She’s not very nice.

It’s an older house with dated decor, but it feels homey as soon as you arrive. The street is mostly quiet, though a train passes now and then and can be loud. The place is clean and tidy, and feels safe: the house is kept locked, and the host gives you keys for both your bedroom and the front door. The owner is really friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are a good size. It’s great value. There isn’t bus service right now, so you’ll need your own car or a taxi. Highly recommended!

The hostess and I got off on a bad footing as soon as I arrived, though we agreed to reset and things improved after that. With the heating vents running, I felt asthmatic for the first time in over 20 years. I’m allergic to cats and dust mites, but I don’t know what caused it. The shower was hard to balance between hot and cold. The bathroom and kitchen are shared with about six other guests. An iron and board are listed, but what’s there is a 2x2' mat and a dirty unit from the 70s, which isn’t adequate. People who can’t live with smokers should move on. I was trying to save money voluntarily, but looking back I’d have paid more for somewhere better. After I posted my Airbnb review, the host replied with a blatant lie that I was trying to get the price lowered. I was being yelled at within a couple of minutes of entering the place. It was the worst experience I’ve had with a business. I can’t understand all the five-star reviews. You’d be better off sleeping in a running car.

Roe and Scott really care about how your stay goes. They’re sincere, helpful, and go out of their way to make things easy. When I’m working, this feels like my home away from home. Couldn’t ask for better hosts. Love the place.

The place is filthy and loud early in the morning, and at around $100 or more a night it isn’t worth the money. There’s no continental breakfast, and having the owners around from sunrise to sunset is uncomfortable. It’s an old house, and for what they charge each month you could rent an apartment for less, so long stays don’t make sense. The owners live in the B&B. There were mice during my stay. The rooms were very dusty and hard to breathe in, and the heat never turned off. I left some belongings for them to store, and they went through them and took a lot of valuable things. Row was there day and night doing chores like her kids’ and husband’s laundry, but not cleaning the suites. The family and children were around all day, with toys scattered over the kitchen floor and counters in a very small kitchen. Renters’ use of the kitchen was restricted, and the washing machine was tied up all day. There’s one bathroom shared by five rooms, including the closet they rent out. The kids were obnoxiously loud, and one was a peeping tom who tried more than once to walk in while the bathroom door was closed. No discipline followed. They have security cameras, and Row hides in a side room spying on people all day. A tenant misplaced money on the counter; instead of asking people or checking the cameras, they said nothing and refused to look. Their website pages don’t mention security cameras. They also had a little Philippino girl staying in an attic crawl space upstairs, paying almost enough for a full room. It wasn’t even four feet high, more like a half-sized closet, and they conned her into paying utility bills too. It’s sickening to treat someone that way, especially someone new to our country. I can’t fit all the reasons I think this family is crooked into this little space. They pay friends to post positive reviews. Don’t fall for the scam.
