Residence & Conference Centre - North Bay

It was clean and seemed quiet, and for the price it wasn't bad. But the cooking setup is worth knowing about: they provide a stove, but there are no utensils, plates, bowls, kettle, or microwave. If you can't bring or buy those things, you'll need to eat out or get food that's easy to make, like sandwiches. They don't tell you until just before you leave, which is why I'm mentioning it here so nobody assumes. There's no TV either, so it gets boring if you don't bring something to do. I was on a tight budget, and more than 24 hours' notice about the cooking situation would've been better.

The room was great otherwise, and I understand the college rents out the units during breaks. I appreciate the low rates, but a microwave is a minimum amenity for me in a hotel. Add one and I'd give it five stars.

A very convenient and good-value choice for one night alone in North Bay. The room has a full-size fridge/freezer and a stove/oven, and there's plenty of space to enjoy during a summer stay. Just know there's no TV.

We stayed here for an event at Nipissing U. It was basic but clean and comfortable enough, and for the price we can't complain. We did miss having a sitting area in the unit. There was only a two-person table in the windowless kitchen. Outside was beautiful, with lots of grassy space around the building, but nowhere to sit except on the grass. A few park benches would make a difference.
