Ramada by Wyndham Pinewood Park Resort North Bay

The bed was reasonably comfortable and the room was okay, but the public spaces looked like they were falling apart. The concrete entrance steps are breaking down, the lobby's second door was off its hinges, and the fish tank has clearly been empty for a while. The pool looked the same. Breakfast was very basic, just store-bought stuff. Don't be fooled by the name.

For the price, this is a pretty good place if you just need somewhere clean and comfortable. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and we slept well. It was fairly clean. Everything's dated and not fancy, but it worked for a simple stay. Breakfast was continental, with bagels, cereal, coffee, and tea. Nothing special, but a nice extra. The pool isn't open and apparently hasn't been for years. There's no proper spa or hot tub, just a warm, dry sauna. Working here could be tricky. The business center is for employees, not guests, and they enforce that. There aren't private work areas, and the lobby and breakfast tables are often locked up during the day when they're not in use. The room is really your only place to work.

I travel to North Bay regularly, and Ramada by Wyndham at Pinewood is my usual choice for the night. Natasha and her front desk team are always welcoming, warm, and professional. The rooms are consistently clean, comfortable, and equipped with the essentials. On my latest trip, a last-minute schedule change meant I couldn't book ahead, but the staff fit me in at their best available rate, which I really appreciated. Breakfast is included and fresh, and the dining room is nicely kept with a nostalgic feel. The golf course views are a bonus. It's hard to find this much comfort, hospitality, and value in North Bay at such reasonable rates.

The location was quiet, with a large area around the hotel, and pets were allowed. The receptionists were friendly. But our room was extremely cold. It only started to warm up around 4 AM, so we slept in pants and sweaters under two duvets. The alarm in the room kept ringing until 10:30 PM. The bathroom mirror and room mirror weren't clean, and there was paper and rubbish along the floor by the walls, so it didn't seem to have been cleaned. On one bed, the pillows looked used and the pillowcases hadn't been changed. I can't say about the sheets, but we chose to sleep in the other bed.
