Northwinds Motel

I’m sorry to leave a review like this, but my stay at Northwinds motel was poor. There was no AC, and the owner was slow to deal with the toilet that wouldn’t flush. They hadn’t responded to my texts or calls about it, and seemed not to care that I couldn’t use the washroom during my stay. I didn’t receive a proper apology or compensation for the inconvenience. It wasn’t a cheap stay, either. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The building is a little old, but the hosts were excellent. It’s well located for visiting several stunning places. The spot feels especially cool in the morning, so try to catch the sunrise.

The room was as advertised, and after a long day hiking the beds were comfortable. We had a bar fridge, plenty of towels, and a coffee pot for the morning. There’s a convenience store across the road where you can get coffee, too. We stayed one night, and the owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. My mom mentioned we’d arrive in the area before check-in, so she got the room ready first and let us check in early. When we arrived, she also gave us a map and suggestions for places to visit and eat. Thanks for a great stay!

I found the room cramped, smelly, and absolutely disgusting. The fridge didn’t work, there was no AC, and I doubt the bed linens had been washed. Seeing a coffee maker inside the washroom appalled me, as did the notice there saying they don’t make your beds. It’s overpriced, and booking this was the worst choice I made. The owner should renovate the place and restart it. I don’t know how they advertise the rooms as clean and comfortable.
