Holiday Beach Resort Motel

After a bad experience at another motel over the long weekend, I panic-searched for somewhere to stay and booked Holiday Beach Motel right away. We got lucky with a room that had just become available. The staff were amazing when we arrived. The room was one of the cleanest and cosiest I’ve stayed in, and had everything we needed. We bought steaks to cook, and there were two barbecues in a wonderful spot on the property. The views were amazing while we cooked, and one of the hosts checked that everything was working and had a lovely chat with us. I’d recommend it and will come back whenever I can. Thank you, Holiday Beach Resort!!!!!

The location is perfect, the room was clean, and the price was right. But we stayed three nights at HBRM in July, and guests on both sides of us smoked on the shared patio the entire time. We had great weather and would have loved to sit at the picnic tables outside our room and enjoy the lake view, but they were smoking from 7am until after 10pm. We sleep with the windows open and were woken just after 7am by the smell of pot. The owners or managers said it had been going on for 25 years, and they let it continue even though it was within 6 metres of our door. Sorry, we won’t be back.

Lavette made sure we had everything we needed, and our room was very clean. It had a large shower instead of a tub, though some rooms do have one. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, including a full fridge and stove. This is a great family motel, right across from the beach. The sandy shore has shallow water for ages, which felt safe and fun for the kids, and there’s also a playground and spray park. Older kids can walk five minutes to the bridge to jump into the lake. The KVR trail is right there for biking, and we saw several deer on it at dusk.

We spent a night at the Holiday Beach Resort Motel in OK Falls this June and really enjoyed it. We arrived by bike in unusually cold, rainy weather, and the owners let us check in a little early so we could warm up. They also offered a hose to clean our bikes and stored them for us. Our room was comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchenette. Across the road there’s a beautiful lakefront park, where people were out enjoying the lake despite the weather. Canoeing seemed especially popular. I really like OK Falls.
