I've stayed here twice on separate occasions, and it's one of my favorite hostels. Right in downtown Ottawa, women only and very affordable. The owner is super friendly and welcoming, and the place feels more like a holiday home. They try to give everyone a room of their own, which is nice. Some rooms might feel a little small when fully booked, but on my winter trips I haven't had to share. The beds are very comfy, everything is clean, and the bathrooms and living room are the nicest I've seen in a hostel so far. Other travelers were quiet and friendly, too. It seems well-maintained, and they work hard to keep the standard up. I do have a couple of small suggestions: a little stove would be useful for people who don't like microwaved food, though there are take-aways nearby. Also, the upstairs bathroom shower handle was a bit loose, so adjusting the water temperature took a while. Absolutely recommend it.

It feels cosy and homey, like staying at a friend's place. The place is clean and quiet, near all the attractions, with a supermarket just 2 mins away on foot. They provide fresh towels daily, clean the toilets daily, and offer basic toiletries. The ventilation is great, and the blanket was the most comfortable of my trip so far. I especially appreciated that they don't put everyone in a room when it's not full, so we had space to get the rest we needed. A few things to know: there's only an oven, so cooking isn't possible. Barefoot means you have to take off your shoes, and all the rooms are upstairs. There are plenty of mirrors, though a full-length one would be better.

The old building is gorgeous, and the hostel is lovely and clean with great value for the price. Check-in happens at the Swiss Hotel next door. The kitchenette has a full-size fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee maker. Bedrooms and one bathroom are upstairs; downstairs are the kitchenette, living area and another washroom, with the toilet and shower separate. I had to wait a couple minutes for the washroom this morning, but it wasn't too bad. The other guests were all friendly and courteous. There are a lot of community support organizations near the hostel. If you're nervous about arriving late, I'd stick to main roads like Cumberland and Rideau.

It only takes up to 16 people, so the hostel is small and cosy with a real home feel. It feels more like a giant BnB than a hostel, with daily cleaning and towels and linen replaced very often. The owner is very nice and helpful, and even the free instant coffee tastes good. One of the best hostels I've stayed in, highly recommend it.

I had a very pleasant one-night stay. Everything was incredibly clean and cosy, with a full kitchen downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs. The lady was so sweet and welcoming. I'd recommend booking through their own website.
