Ottawa Inn Hotel

For a 2 star motel, it was pretty good, and the service was good. The bed was really comfortable and the place had no smell while I was there. The tub and furniture need upkeep, and without a lamp or other comfortable lighting the room felt like a basement rec room. The heater worked great, though it got a little warm. I could hear the rooms next door a bit more than usual for a motel during “adult time.” They also take cash deposits.

My room smelled bad and felt small and basement-like, with nothing to see outside the window. I asked a few times to have the sheets and blankets changed, but housekeeping never came. The walls are thin, so there's plenty of noise, and the doors slam or make loud sounds.

The inside was clean and surprisingly quiet, and the staff were courteous. The heater worked, and the price and location suited me, so I might stay again when travelling on a dime. The TV didn't have a remote that could operate it, and the bathroom fan was broken, but those were small inconveniences. It was about what I expected, and the stay wasn't bad.

The staff were courteous, but the hotel itself needs a major revamp. It was dirty, old and unkempt, and the bed was infested with bed bugs. The AC didn't work, the toilet was dirty, and even light bulbs were missing. They fixed the bulbs after a few hours, but the room and bathroom still smelled dingy because the room was poorly ventilated and the AC wouldn't work.
