Metcalfe Hotel Ottawa by Gray Collection

The only tricky part was valet parking, since the nearby streets are busy and narrow. It didn't take away from a very good stay, though. The Metcalfe Hotel was spotless, and I loved its stylish, modern decor. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the coffee and desserts from the conveniently located cafe were delicious. The hotel is very central, with many attractions an easy walk away. I'd happily return.

My three weeks at The Metcalfe were unexpectedly comforting during a difficult time. An issue at home meant I needed somewhere to stay, and the team's compassion and professionalism helped make the situation feel much lighter. The nightly turn-down service was a small thing that brought me joy each day. Damio, Claire, Fumi, Olivia, Julien, Sylva, Ali, Alex, and Sofia were thoughtful and supportive throughout. At Cocotte Bistro, Brooke, Gent, Alessandro, Flavia, Camille, Felipe, Nassim, Catherine, Ray, Charles, and others whose names I can't recall made each meal and conversation feel personal and uplifting. Everyone's warmth and care made The Metcalfe feel like home. I'm deeply grateful.

I've stayed at the metcalfe several times, and it's still my first choice in ottawa. The junior suite had a spacious, nicely decorated living room, and the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. The service is impeccable.

The main downside for me was the pillows. They were so soft that I strained my neck, fortunately on the last night of the trip. There were also quite a few unhoused people in the area, as is common in downtowns, but we walked everywhere without feeling unsafe, including to nearby Rideau hall. We were drawn to this boutique hotel because it was close to our meeting location, and I'm glad my husband found it. We were upgraded to an executive room without asking, a pleasant surprise. It had a king bed, fridge, and Nespresso coffee with milk and sugar. There was no in-room microwave, which was fine since the hotel has a good restaurant. I especially liked the large shower with two shower heads and window slots to let out steam. Our room was cleaned daily, and staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I'd stay again, it was a good experience.
