Residences at Kanata Lakes

We lived here for about a year and a few months and had an amazing experience. The residence is close to centrum, with a trail connecting the two. Our home was in excellent condition, and Katrina made us feel at home from day one. We had no issues, and the place was excellently maintained. I’d highly recommend it for the flexible rental options and how convenient it was to live here.

The building was always kept clean and in great shape, and management and staff treated us with real respect. Holly, our landlady, is the most caring and amazing building manager I’ve dealt with. We hardly had any issues, and whenever something came up, it was sorted out the same day without questions. Our time here was beyond amazing. We only left because our family grew and we needed a bigger place. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have moved. Easily the best building to live in the west end of the city.

We spent 18 months in this residence and will miss the place and the team, especially Holly. Shopping is just a few minutes away on foot, and there are nice walks around the neighborhood. Our apartment, on the 5th level on the South-West side, was lovely and well insulated. We rarely used the heating or AC, and the temperature stayed around 20-21°C in winter and 23-24°C in summer. This was our first apartment after moving to Canada in January 2020. We booked it remotely from France using pictures Holly, the leasing manager, sent us. She was wonderful, responding quickly and kindly and finding solutions to any issues, including arranging a money transfer so we could reserve without a local bank account. The residence was always clean and well maintained, and everyone from both the residence and hotel teams was kind and polite. Because of covid, the gym and swimming pool were closed most of the time, but both are really cool and well equipped.

It’s in a handy spot near shopping and the 417 highway, and the property itself is nice. Our room was in OK condition. I booked because there was a kitchen, but the pots, pans, knives and other supplies were scarce and not in good shape. We also found dried food in a cupboard, so I’m not sure how thoroughly the apartment is cleaned between guests. There’s no towel or linen service, and there were very few plates and cups, so bring your own dish and laundry soap. I’d recommend it as a place to quarantine after travel, but probably not for much beyond that.
