The building has some real positives: utilities are included, the water pressure is good, and there’s a garbage chute and party room. It’s close to grocery and dollar stores, restaurants, and other places. The superintendent was very responsive and helpful. There were no roaches or bed bugs while I lived there, and the central AC was good when it worked. But for the price, I wouldn’t recommend it. Hydro and water were shut off for a day multiple times, so I had to make other arrangements to work from home. The AC failed several times during the summer and wasn’t turned on until mid-May, after a hot month. Laundry in the basement is expensive, and the old dishwasher only worked about half the time. There were lots of ants, and the area was loud and chaotic. There’s no compost now, though apparently there used to be. The garage was awkward too, with small spaces, difficult corners, and a very steep exit ramp that was tough to manage in winter with front-wheel drive and winter tires. Some issues may be outside the building’s control, but there are practical things District Realty could improve.
