Pemberton Valley Lodge

We still meet at this lodge several times a year, often for family occasions, and recently celebrated my mom’s birthday there. Our dad passed away a few years ago, and these gatherings also help us honor him. We’ve been coming for the last decade, since family members live in different areas and this makes a good meeting spot. The staff were accommodating and kind, always serving us with a smile. There’s plenty of free parking, walking trails behind the Lodge, and the town is within walking distance. The coffee bar and lounge are nice touches, and the outdoor pool and hot tub are always a treat. Sometimes all you need is a hot tub with a view of snow-capped mountains! We’re obsessed, go here!! 🏔️

The service was great during our one-night stay, and the beds were very comfortable. I went for a swim and enjoyed a soak in the hot tub. Our car was caked in mud after the road to Bella Coola, so it was great to find a car wash station in the underground parking and make good use of it.

We’d been on the road for a while and wanted a relaxing night, but this wasn’t the place for it. The room was over the lobby and faced the street, so there was road noise from trucks. Starting at midnight, people outside the lobby yelled and slammed car doors as they got out. That went on until 2 am, and people on the floors were still yelling and making noise until 3 am. Staff showed little remorse and blamed us for not calling to report it, even though we were just trying to get some sleep. You’d expect the hosts to keep people from being loud right in front of the lobby, but we didn’t get that basic courtesy. They claim you can have a quieter, less bustling stay than in Whistler, but they didn’t deliver on that. I’d stay somewhere with proper overnight staffing so guests aren’t disturbed.

Customer service was great, the room was clean, and we appreciated that the hotel is dog friendly during our two-night stay. But at over $400 a night, the interior fell short of what we expected. The bathroom fan didn’t work at all, and there was no breakfast included.
