Pomeroy Inn and Suites Fort St John

The Arabian room was really fun to walk into, with its big four-poster bed and kitchen suite. I got the jacuzzi suite, and the tub in the corner was just the right size for two. It’s separate from the bathroom tub, too. The room was extremely clean, with lots of fluffy towels. I was traveling with my dog, and they were pretty friendly. Everyone on staff I spoke with was very professional. I hope I can stay here again.

The housekeeping could use some work. I’m a bit of a clean freak, and they didn’t always clean thoroughly. Sometimes the bedding wasn’t done, or the counters or toilet weren’t wiped. They often missed something, so after a long day of work I’d feel frustrated and have to go down and ask for a more thorough clean the next day. There are plenty of good things here too: friendly staff, decent rooms, free laundry, daily breakfast and popcorn, and a great customer appreciation pizza dinner every Wednesday.

The breakfast buffet had hot eggs, potatoes, meat and waffles, plus instant oatmeal, cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, muffins, rolls, buns, bread, toast and bagels. There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fruit juice too, though I’m sure I’ve forgotten something. We were there in the off-season, in early March, so the prices were attractive. There was an excellent selection of rooms, and the service was good, just as we expected.

Pretty disappointed with the service. I tried to cancel my booking starting Tuesday and messaged twice, emailed twice, and called the property, but got no response at all. No call back or email either. The booking was for yesterday, and I’d been trying for almost a week.
