Carmi Motel

The location is great, almost right in the middle of Main Street and central Penticton. The rooms need updating, and the staff could be friendlier and do more to make guests feel comfortable. They seemed unsure about renting a room to my girlfriend and me. The stay was okay overall, three out of five.

Even for a motel, this was a really low point. The place looked bad and smelled just as bad, and I didn’t want to touch anything. Honestly, I’d have been better off sleeping in the car.

We’re on our second night and loving the family-run feel of the managers here. The air conditioning works, the beds are comfortable, and we’re glad to have the fridge, stove, and microwave. They even helped us get the TV set up, haha!

We liked the location, between two beaches and close to shops and restaurants. The room needed a lot of cleaning, though: we had to do the floor, toilet, and shower ourselves, and the old air conditioner was really loud. It’s fine for a night or two, but next time we’ll book somewhere else.
