Barry knew Picton really well and pointed me toward a little restaurant tucked away in a small house. I’d never have found it on my own, and that one tip made the trip. He was friendly and VERY knowledgeable. I stayed in the Victoria room for one night on a quick layover before an early flight out of Detroit, after driving all day from Montreal. The room was spotless and beautiful, with an excellent mattress and a quiet, calming feel. I arrived exhausted and left refreshed the next morning. The bathroom stood out too. It had a spa-like atmosphere, and the shower was roomy, sturdy, and modern, a welcome change from the cramped or rickety showers in many older inns. I’d gladly return and stay longer next time.

Barry was a very helpful, accommodating host during our enjoyable three-night stay at The 1885 Suites. Our place looked just like the website photos: clean, charming, and well equipped. We could walk to Picton’s lovely shops and restaurants, and the wineries were a short drive away. Highly recommend.

The backyard was a cozy little oasis to unwind in after a long day, and there’s no shortage of things to do around here. The home itself is stunning, quiet, and in a phenomenal spot, just a two-minute walk from downtown Picton. It had lots of thoughtful extras, from makeup wipes, shampoo, and lotion to chilled cups in the fridge and comfy robes. The bathroom and shower were beautiful, with tall ceilings. The host even reminded us we were on vacation and could leave the dishes and sheets. Thanks again!

Boutiques, restaurants, pubs, and cafes are all within walking distance of 1885 Suites. It feels like a little oasis in Picton. Barry has thought of what you need for a home away from home, and everything was there. Very clean and nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and pillows and good quality bedding and towels.

We stayed at 1885 Suites from 9 - 11 June, in suite B. It was clean and nicely decorated, and we enjoyed sitting and relaxing in the backyard garden. Downtown, with all its restaurants and shops, is a short stroll away. Barry was a great host and we’ll definitely stay here again.
