The setting by the vines was cute, and the pizza itself was good, with fine charcuterie and meat. Still, there was a piece of plastic on one slice, and the patio service left us feeling ignored. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order, the table hadn’t been cleaned after the previous customers, and it took a while to get a bottle of water. There seemed to be plenty of staff for the number of occupied tables, but they weren’t very friendly. Diana, who came over from the store area, was the one person who was really nice. We got no explanation or recommendations about the wines, even after asking. I’d suggest the 12CAD tasting of three wines over ordering a glass on the patio. The oaked chardonnay was the most interesting one we tried. We’d planned to buy that bottle, but changed our minds after the patio experience. It might be a nice place to visit, I guess we just weren’t lucky that day. First time I’ve been this disappointed with a place, fortunately for me.

We tasted some local wines, then took a full glass and wandered through the winery and sculpture garden. Catherine’s Chardonnay, named for the owner’s wife, was a favorite. The property is beautiful, the selection is great, and the service was nice. We didn’t try the food, though the pizza smelled delicious.

We’re staying at the Inn now and having a really relaxing holiday. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, with a big shower in the bathroom and a lovely private patio just outside the large patio door. Breakfast was fabulous, especially the omelet with home fries and bacon. We’ve got a wine tour booked for later today and are planning pizza for lunch.

The hotel is comfortable, though a little run-down. Our room had a nice small patio with a table and chairs, and breakfast is included, but it was just OK and didn’t quite match the rest of the hotel. The free Tesla and general EV charging is a great climate-conscious touch. I’d stay again on a future trip to the PEC area. Staying on winery grounds is a nice experience. There’s a wine store, tastings, and a pizza restaurant open for lunch and early supper. The sprawling sculpture garden has modern works that change about once a year, with some close together and others standing alone in a field that serves as a kind of canvas. There’s also an art gallery worth visiting, and exploring it with a glass of wine is encouraged.
