Pictou Lodge Beachfront Resort

The lagoon was a blast to paddle around, and we loved having the beach and town nearby. Our chalets were immaculate, the beach was gorgeous, and the taproom at the Main Lodge was great. We had an amazing bachelorette weekend, and the team made the bride and her friends feel special. Everyone wants to come back!

On our second stay, we again found an empty alcohol can under the bed and a dirty Subway napkin, even though the room looked nice. The first time, there was an empty wine bottle in the room and a phone charger left plugged into the bedroom outlet. We had no housekeeping during our two days, and had to ask for towels and toilet paper. They left them in a bag on the front porch. I’m very disappointed again. The location is beautiful and the beds are very soft, but the price is far too high for what they offer. The dining was overrated too. Breakfast was okay, but cost us $63.00 for 3 people, and supper was outrageously expensive. My son’s lobster mac n' cheese was forgotten, and when it finally came, it had shells in it. The waitress took only $4.00 off the bill, which ended up costing $200. It might have been fine if the “resort” weren’t so expensive. We’ve stayed at hotels with much better service for significantly less. I won’t recommend this place.

I loved having my own quaint little deck, and walking the grounds by the beach was so calming. Check-in was friendly, professional, and informative. The dining room had beautiful open views, and dinner was delicious. I wasn’t sure about the molasses butter with the biscuit at first, but it was a treat. Breakfast was delicious too. Staff kept guests safe by wearing masks at all times, even though they weren’t mandatory then, and made everyone feel comfortable. There are local crafts and art for sale in the lobby. The whole place had a warm, calm feel as soon as I arrived on a perfect summer day. It’s a lovely spot for families, couples, or a solo road trip when you need to recharge. A relaxing getaway with everything you may need. I’ll be back. Thank you to Wes and his great staff for creating a safe, fun summer break with good food and great rest.

We visited a family member staying at the lodge, and the views across the ocean were beautiful. At night, the sky full of stars was breathtaking. There are bonfire spots and outdoor seating where you can enjoy the scenery. The rooms are wood and log cabins, depending on which type of dwelling you choose. The place is really nice, though the service could be better and a few more parking spaces would help. It’s a great getaway in beautiful Pictou County, NS. Thank you!
