We booked three rooms for our family group of about ten, with breakfast included, but the morning experience was deeply disappointing. We came in at 10:50 AM, and the restaurant employee rudely asked if we had vouchers. His tone embarrassed us in front of the family, with no courtesy or hospitality. We also saw him speaking politely and kindly to white customers, which left us feeling singled out and treated differently as paying guests. We understand there may be rules for breakfast access, but staff can explain them respectfully. The manager's behavior, as we experienced it, ruined the morning and left the whole family with a very negative impression of the hotel's customer service. We were told the manager was off that day and would call us back, but no call has come. That seemed unusual and made us wonder how the hotel operates without supervision. We wouldn't recommend staying here based on how we were treated.

The hotel is older, but it was fine for our two-night family stay and the rooms were adequate. Staff were very friendly, and breakfast came as a coupon for the attached restaurant, which was a great value. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub; there's no sauna. They even had an Alexa beside the pool set up to play music.
The location was good and breakfast was good, and I liked how spacious and comfortable the room was. The shower, toilet and closet were each in separate private areas. The pool was warm, but the hot tub wasn't working, and we couldn't find towels there, so bring some from your room. Even though the hotel was nearly empty, they couldn't accommodate our request for a third-floor room. The woman at reception wasn't very nice. The incidental deposit was $250, more than the cost of the night. I'd never had to leave that much before.
After an eight-hour drive from the States, we arrived with our small cockapoo and couldn't find any staff. About twenty minutes later we got into the dog-friendly room, but it smelled like an unclean wet dog. The room wasn't too dirty overall, though there was dirt in the corners. For over $150 a night, we were very disappointed. The TV didn't work. I asked at the front desk for help, and the manager wrote down my room number and said someone would come, but nobody showed. The staff seemed very young, likely the only people available to work there. Breakfast was good and included, the coffee was nice, and the hotel felt quiet and safe. Still, based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend it if you're traveling with a dog. If you're coming up from Washington, stay in Fernie.
The breakfast setup was a hassle as well as the food being terrible. You need tickets to eat, but nobody told us at check-in, so we had to waste time going back to the front desk. The juice pitchers were away from the glasses, and the food was laid out inconveniently. The room was a decent size until we opened the sofa bed. Its mattress was filthy and full of crumbs, so I had to take it off and shake it out. Housekeeping hadn't put sheets on it either. We called the front office for sheets, and they offered to make the bed, but we said we'd do it ourselves. It's an average hotel at best. Next time we're in Pincher Creek, we'll go to the Ramada.
