The breakfast Myra made was lovely: I had French toast, and my boyfriend chose the egg and bacon combo. Gîte Les Acres Tranquilles really does feel true to its name. It’s set somewhere quiet and serene, and the cozy house made it easy to relax and sleep deeply. The photos don’t quite capture its beauty or the soothing feel of the place. It’s a great retreat if you’re looking to slow down and enjoy some real peace. If you’re going to Port-Daniel, consider booking a few nights here.

The living room was such a nice place to sit with a book or have a conversation, and breakfast was the highlight of our stay. Myra cooked a varied spread perfectly. Our room was spacious and sparkling clean, with a bathroom that had plenty of amenities. The house is lovely and thoughtfully decorated. You can’t go wrong with this exceptional B&B.

The owner was so welcoming, and the place was clean throughout. The bedroom, shower, TV room, and library were all nicely decorated, and breakfast was good. Everything was nicer than I expected. A very pleasant place to stay.

We stayed in the room called “Carole,” and having its own bathroom was a real plus. The TV was in the bedroom, and the breakfast times, Wi-Fi password, and house rules were posted clearly there. Everything was spotlessly clean, including the bedroom and breakfast area. The owner mentioned that her pretty, well-trained dog stays in “her part of the house.” We enjoyed meeting the dog briefly near the end of our second breakfast, though someone afraid of or allergic to dogs might not feel as comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with French toast, omelettes, eggs and sausages, plus yogurt with fruit jams and orange juice. I mentioned on the first day that I drink decaf, which she didn’t have. I was very pleasantly surprised when she had gone out to get some for the second breakfast. That was really thoughtful. She also suggested Nova Lumina, which we wouldn’t have discovered ourselves, another time she went the extra mile. When we were concerned about arriving late for check-in, the owner replied quickly, which was reassuring. We shared our second breakfast with three other pleasant guests who had arrived by helicopter. Quite a sight! So if you’re travelling by helicopter, this B&B can accommodate you. The one drawback for us was that it’s a bit out of the way from the usual attractions in this part of Quebec.

I spent six weeks here and had a great stay. It’s a calm, peaceful spot with a beautiful view of the gulf, and the place is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and the landlady was kind and helpful. She gave me all the information I needed to travel around the area. A lovely place to stay and relax.
