The receptionist was friendly, and the clean, comfortable beds were welcome after our 17-hour ferry ride from Prince Rupert. We arrived at 11:30 p.m. and just needed somewhere near Port Hardy for the night, so we slept and left early. The spacious room had two double beds, but the furniture felt old and worn, there was a musty smell, and conversations from both neighboring rooms carried through.

The front desk woman was very kind and quickly moved us when we asked for another room because ours smelled bad and the bathroom wasn't clean. Still, I got the impression the smell was throughout the property. The linens need a better wash and the pillows should be replaced. I wouldn't recommend staying here. The helpful front desk is the reason for the two stars.

The mattresses looked decades old, stained and disgusting. I checked for bed bugs and thankfully couldn't see any. The place felt dated, old, and dirty, and there was no housekeeping during our stay. We were only there for two nights, but I wouldn't return. Honestly, I should have slept in my truck. Even the cheap rates aren't worth it.

The suite had toiletries and a coffee maker, and was generally clean, though there were crumbs under the coffee table and something sticky on the floor, possibly a coffee spill from the last guest. The toilet ran all night, and I could hear people coming and going late at night. It was 13 °C when I arrived, and I couldn't locate the thermostat until I asked the front desk. Heating it by six degrees took three hours, and it warmed a little more overnight.

It's close to the harbor and the Wi-Fi was strong. The place seemed fairly clean, though the carpet felt questionable enough that I wouldn't want to check it with a black light. It is exactly what it appears to be, nothing more. I think one wing is used as permanent residences.
