Canad Inns Destination Centre Portage la Prairie

I stayed for work for a little over three months and got to know the staff. I especially appreciated McKayla and zoe. The hotel’s a bit older, but everything is new and clean, with a cozy log cabin feel, kind of like a Cabela's hotel. The breakfast, lunch, and brunch are amazing. There’s a big lounge with pay-per-view, a large pool with a waterslide and hot tub, and a huge gym. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

I’m really grateful to the staff and management for taking care of me and others who were stranded by the storm on Friday night, Jan 16th. I’d stayed two nights earlier and checked out Friday morning, then the weather changed and I needed somewhere to stay. They were booked, but said I could come hang out so I wouldn’t waste gas or be out in the cold. They gave us blankets, hot drinks, and water, and another guest brought snacks. Breakfast at the restaurant was great, and the staff there were friendly. I made it home to Cowessess, Saskatchewan just after lunch today, feeling very thankful.

During that awful storm, the hotel let people use the conference rooms for free, which was amazing. The kids had a blast playing mini sticks while the parents could relax. The rooms are on the small, dated side, but they were clean and comfortable. We’ll be back with our team.

We couldn’t sleep because of doors slamming in the hall, kids running up and down, and the smell of weed coming into our room from the hallway. There was no lifeguard at the pool, and kids were roughhousing and breaking the rules, so we couldn’t enjoy it. We also found a lot of dust on the wall above the beds. They need rules and staff to make sure people follow them. Definitely do not recommend.
