Courtyard by Marriott Prince George

The pool, hot tub, and lounge were all clean and well looked after, and the staff were great. Prices and amenities were good too. Just be cautious outside late at night, especially on weekends. There were transient people around, and police warned us to take care.

For a work trip, this place was a good fit. My room was clean, the location was convenient, and things were quiet. Good stay.

The gym was spacious and fairly well equipped, but there was no way to switch off the music. The shower also had no sliding door, so water escaped through the opening and soaked the floor even during a short shower. The fridge was tiny, had no temperature control, and froze food touching its back wall. I asked several times for a kettle, but none was available during my two-week stay, although the hotel apparently owns some. The biggest hassle was the noisy HVAC. Its fan only had “on” and “auto” settings, and it kept kicking in for about 20 seconds every ten minutes at night. I spoke with staff around six times to get it turned off. It seemed fixed on the second night, but the problem returned and meant another round of conversations before it was finally sorted out. The wall thermostat and unit both looked like they were designed in the 1980s. There were billing issues too. Instead of one final balance, the invoice showed three separate credit card payments. I called accounting to ask for a consolidated invoice and never got a call back. With all these inconveniences, I'd be reluctant to stay here again.

The underground parking was great, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. There’s a nice place downstairs to grab a drink. The area felt a bit sketchy after dark, but I’d stay here again.
