We had a very large, comfortable one-bedroom suite with two double beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. Service was very good, and although we didn’t explore much, the hotel was clean. The rooms are a bit dated. The large bathroom was well equipped, but the only shower was mounted over a deep soaker tub with water jets. It was awkward for my older mother to get into, so I wouldn’t suggest it for anyone with limited mobility. The sofa bed was worn and partly broken, with an uncomfortable mattress that felt like a metal grid. I put it on the floor to give it more support. The living room windows also had no blackout coverings. Still, I’d recommend the hotel if you check about the shower and sofa bed first. It’s easy to reach from the highway in Ste-Foy, about a 15-20 minute drive from Old Quebec.

We paid for a particular room, then arrived to find we’d been moved to a smaller one. We tried to let it go since it was only one night, but that was a mistake. The dated furniture, lingering old smell and property that feels stuck in the past made the stay feel like a budget experience at a luxury price. They charged $25 per person for a stale, low-quality continental breakfast and $20 a day to park our own car. They also asked for $50 to put a microwave in the room. The fine print seems designed to drain your wallet. Don’t let the '5-star' rating fool you. Save your money for somewhere that values its guests instead of nickel-and-diming them at checkout. This felt like bait and switch.

Parking was easy and the price was right. I loved relaxing in the hammocks, and the warm pool was just right for Labor day weekend. The hot tub was great too, though I’d have liked it a few degrees hotter since I like them reaally hot. My wife and I came a few months ago because a nearby spa’s water circuit was fully booked, and the outdoor amenities here seemed perfect. Room service was easy to use. The nachos were expensive and nothing special, but the club was excellent. We didn’t get to try the evening activities, though marshmallow roasting sounded fun. I’ll be back soon!

The property is gorgeous and well kept, and our renovated room had an amazing bathtub. The staff were friendly, but I thought the price was too high. Our first night was really hot because the thermostat batteries were dead. After a long day, finding just one shampoo, conditioner and body wash for two adults was frustrating. I also found someone else’s hair in my bed. Gross.

After a full day on the road, all we wanted was somewhere to relax, and this place was just that. We picked it for a two-day stop on the way to Halifax and weren’t disappointed. The staff, atmosphere and location all surpassed what we expected, and you can tell people care about the details. Can’t wait to come back someday :)
