The view from our window was unbeatable, with Chateau Frontenac in sight, and the room was large with a comfortable bed. The shower had good pressure and hot water. We heard almost no outside noise, though once we did hear a neighbor’s coffee maker. Having one in our room was nice. Even the elevator was pretty. We could walk to the old city and Petit Champlain, and the spot was perfect for the Christmas markets. The tourist office on the first floor was handy for arranging rideshares or asking directions, and it never caused an issue. Checking in was smooth thanks to the advance electronic check-in. Front desk staff were very helpful and patient as we sorted out a change to our third-party booking. We didn’t use the discounted breakfast coupons for the sister hotel next door because we’d booked breakfast at the Chateau and left early on other days. The photo is the view through my window, apologies for the poor shot through glass.

The rooms were very modern and clean, and the staff were consistently welcoming and helpful. Everything is within walking distance from this perfect spot in the heart of Old Quebec. We had a great two-night stay and I’d happily book again on my next visit.

The location is the main thing, and I don’t think it can be beaten. Everything is within walking distance. We stayed three nights and were pleasantly surprised by the room, number 109, which was lovely. It had a park view and a partial view of the Fontenac. My only drawback was the carpet, as I’m not a fan of carpeted floors in a public space. To reach the elevator and hotel lobby on the first floor, you pass through a large Tourist Information center on the ground floor. That wasn’t a problem, and once upstairs we couldn’t hear any noise from below.

The room was clean and adequate, and the price was good. The floor has no carpet and gets cold, so bring slippers. The shower floor was slippery even without soap, so be careful. I woke with a headache from the smell of bleach. The windows don’t open, and the room was 25 degrees. I turned on the AC, though I would have preferred an open window, but it switched off in the middle of the night and I woke up sweating. The temperature was 24, not the 19 I’d set. My room faced another building and what looked like a loft rental for tourists, so I had to keep the blinds down for privacy. I was out most of the day and only came back to sleep and shower. The hotel has a 24-hour concierge, which was one reason I chose it. It’s convenient for first-time visitors to Quebec, with the tourist office on the ground floor. They kindly held my luggage until check-in, and my room was ready at 2 instead of 4. I couldn’t use the 15% restaurant coupon because there weren’t vegan options. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the train and bus station. Other hotels were either exorbitantly priced, or the cheaper ones were more virtual and lacked 24/7 staff and luggage storage before check-in or after checkout for later travel arrangements.

It felt quiet and safe, and the bathroom was clean. We picked a smaller room for one night; it was compact but matched what was advertised. The location could hardly be closer to the heart of Old Town Quebec City. After a certain hour, entry was by key card only. I wasn't sure whether a concierge was on site overnight.
