Repotel Henri IV Québec

The location was quite handy, close to Old Quebec, with a nice coffee shop nearby. There was a coffee machine at reception, which I liked, and the mini fridge and basic utilities were useful. But for the price, the cleaning was poor. There was dust and hair on the towels and bathroom sink, and on the sheets, pillows, and covers. We found yellow and brown stains on the covers too. I was bothered by it all night. Absolutely disgusting. The shampoo and body wash were low quality and had no labels, and the bathroom lighting was badly maintained. They provided coffee but no water, which seemed odd. At check-in, the woman at the front desk was rude and unpleasant. We asked for rooms beside each other because our kids would be in a room alone, but she seemed unhappy about it and said no changes could be made. There was no room service.

The bed and pillows were really comfortable, and the service was great. There’s coffee in the lobby, with restaurants, a Dollarama, and a grocery store nearby. My only complaint is that they should have a handheld shower.

We chose the henri IV Repotel in Quebec last week because it seemed dependable and near the airport. We were there with our two children, and when we went to make up the sofa bed, we found the sheets already on it, strangely, were dirty, with stains and bread and rice crumbs. I took photos because I’d never seen anything like it. It was honestly disgusting. I went downstairs, but nobody was at reception at that hour. With an early flight and no other choice, the kids slept in the main bed with us, which was meant for two people instead of all four of us. I emailed management after we left, but got no meaningful response and nothing was offered for the major inconvenience. There was also no free shuttle to the airport.

In my opinion, this place deserves no more than 2 stars. It’s poorly rated as a 3-star hotel and is really just somewhere to spend the night, with no amenities. There’s no room service, and they never clean your room.
