Ramada by Wyndham Red Deer Hotel and Suites

The breakfast was the biggest letdown. Choices were sparse, and staff served guests tiny portions instead of letting us help ourselves, such as two pieces each of bacon and sausage and a little scrambled egg. On the weekend, the food was gone around 9:40 even though breakfast was meant to run until 10. When we asked, staff said they were closing soon, then started clearing what was left around 9:50. Very frustrating. We paid about $550 for two nights after hearing recommendations, much more than other hotels in the city, and expected a better stay. The room felt old and worn, the bed was uncomfortable, and the AC didn't work properly the first night. We were told only one extra blanket was left when we asked for more. The front desk did respond to my complaint and fixed the AC on the second day. For the price, this wasn't close to worth it, and we won't be back.

I was really disappointed. The rooms don't look like the photos, and the pool was filthy. The microwave and coffee maker sounded like they might blow up. We were out from 10 in the morning until 9 at night, but the room hadn't been cleaned: garbage was full, beds were unmade, and there were no clean towels, coffee, or extra toilet paper. When I complained, they blamed the do-not-disturb sign, but it wasn't on the door. The manager made me feel like I was lying about that. One room had no hot water, so we had to move, and then more problems kept coming. I'll never stay there again. You can get a much better room for the same price.

The complimentary breakfast, pool, and gym were highlights for us. Our room was spotless, nicely set up, and comfortable to unwind in, and the staff were welcoming and attentive from arrival. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel for a fun, memorable getaway.

We were here for my cousin's funeral, and Adonis at the front desk was wonderful with our very large family all weekend. I've stayed in plenty of hotels with my hockey family and met good staff, but nobody has stood out enough for me to make a point of writing a review before. He went above and beyond, and we noticed. Thank you, Adonis. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and breakfast was great too.
