The room was filthy and had a strong marijuana smell as soon as we entered. It made the whole stay uncomfortable. The floors creaked loudly with every step, the place felt poorly maintained, and the bathroom door wouldn’t lock. There was no proper water facility, and reception shut at 11 PM, leaving nobody available to help afterward. The linens were okay, though they could have been much cleaner. We booked through Booking.com, but the place felt neglected and badly managed. Save yourself the frustration and book elsewhere. Do not stay at Alpine Inn & Suites, Revelstoke.

The woman who checked us out was lovely, though she was older. Everything else was terrible. The room smelled unbearably bad and wasn’t clean. The young woman who checked us in seemed to have a personal issue with us, even though it was our first time in Canada, let alone at this place. She was rude and unhelpful. I was shocked by her attitude, but my husband kept looking at me to stay calm, so I didn’t react.

I wanted to give this one star, but the front desk woman was really nice and helpful. We were in room 23, and the urine and mold smell hit us as soon as I unlocked the door. I’d already paid $360US for 3 nights. The rooms and bathrooms are extremely outdated, and the walls are so thin we could hear every word, farts, banging, TV shows, footsteps and outside noise from other rooms and upstairs. There was also a constant drip I couldn’t tell was inside or out. After more than 12 hours of driving, we’d carried our things in and I couldn’t even remember my name, so I just needed sleep. I opened the bathroom window and shut the door, hoping to air it out. We slept very little, and the urine and mold smell still came from under the bathroom door. There was so much hair and pubic hair on the bathroom floor that I couldn’t walk in there. We put towels down so we wouldn’t have to touch it. Even a candle couldn’t cover the piss smell. Breakfast the next morning was toast, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, muffins and juice, with no hot food. I asked for my money back, but they wouldn’t refund even one night. They offered to move us, but I didn’t want to find out what another room smelled like if they couldn’t smell the urine and mold in this one. We packed up and got another hotel. Don’t stay here, save your trouble, money and energy and go elsewhere.

I left and asked for my money back after paying $156 for a room with no heat. When I arrived at 6:00 p.m., the room was only 9 degrees, so I waited for it to warm up. After more than two hours, I realized the heating system was NOT working. I called the woman, who brought me a portable heater. Seriously? She got angry when I asked for a refund. At the main office, nobody was there at first, so I waited about 15 minutes for a woman to arrive, clearly upset. She gave me room 29 and said I’d hear noise from the laundry room next door until 9:00 p.m. Worst experience of my life. Worst place ever. Do not go.

The highway was closed, so we unexpectedly needed a room for the night. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The reception area was bright and spacious, with plenty of seats where continental breakfast was served. They had some items from their culture, including steamed corn doughnuts, which were a treat.
