The view from the 16th floor was lovely, and I liked the sliding barn-door-style dividers between the bedroom, bathroom, and living room. They included organic tea, which I appreciated, and parking was free for guests. It’s one of the nicest places I’ve stayed. I only wish they’d provided a house coat, so I could enjoy the outdoor heated pool on the fifth floor without walking through the halls in just my swimsuit.

After more than 20 hours of travel and a cancelled flight, checking into another hotel was the last thing we wanted. The airline had booked us here, and the two women working the front desk on the night of 2/28 made the process easy. They greeted us with warm, friendly smiles and quickly took care of all our questions and requests. Thank you!

After a long day of airport delays and cancelled flights, Mia at the front desk welcomed me when I checked in. She was professional and extremely kind, and even gave us a free upgrade. We also had wonderful service in the restaurant.

I’m a Marriott Gold Elite member, and this Richmond stay was a real disappointment. When I raised the noise at checkout, the staff didn’t apologize. The night staff I spoke to at 2 a.m. seemed only to add a note about my complaint. We were in room 312 for two winter nights, and a deep pounding noise, apparently from upstairs or downstairs, kept starting and stopping. It woke me at 2 a.m. and went on for nearly 40 minutes, then returned at 7:30 the next morning. The walls did little to block outside noise. The room felt old, although the bathroom looked fairly new. This is the worst Marriott I’ve stayed in, and I don’t think it deserves four stars. Three at most.

The room was clean and had a cozy feel, and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. There isn’t much choice, though. They no longer seem to have cold cuts or smoked salmon like they used to, so at the current price it feels too expensive. Come and see for yourself.
