Auberge Le Caribou

The ocean view and spot to watch the sunrise are lovely. We came back to Auberge Le Caribou this summer after spending three nights there last summer. We tried a hotel room the first time and a chalet on this visit. Both were clean and nice, and the chalet had a fridge and stove. The employees were friendly and helpful, and dinner or breakfast at the restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend it.

The location made it easy to get around, and we liked the view out back. The person at reception was friendly, and the room was clean, though dated. There’s no air conditioning in the unrenovated rooms, but they do provide an upright fan. The mattress was the real problem, so hard it felt like sleeping on a box spring. It was the worst sleep of our lives. If you like a medium or soft mattress, avoid room 34.

The dining room food was excellent, and the customer service deserves the four stars. My grandson left an item in the room, and after I called, they quickly sent it by bus. We had it by the time we got home, which I really appreciated. The room was clean but small, and the renovated bathroom was small too. There’s no air conditioning.

The staff were great all around, and having a restaurant and bar right there was really nice. We got a late reservation after coming from the park. The room was great, and I believe they accept pets too. The food was good, and our son had fun dining in his first bar. In the USA, age rules would have meant he had to be a year older.
