We had a large first-floor room with a private bathroom in this beautiful historic home on a large lakeside property. There was plenty of storage for our two bicycles. The cupboard under the sink held products that may have been left by previous guests, rather than conventional toiletries, and the closet had clothing and footwear in it. On a sunny day, breakfast was served outside overlooking the water. There were good-quality cappuccino and espresso options. For two people, we got an egg in a ham cup, fresh fruit, jam, and three pieces of toast, with two more pieces of bread offered. Payment was cash only, and the promised receipt by email never arrived.

The giant lake makes the place feel magical. There’s lots of space, a bike path runs alongside, and a park is right next door. Everything is close by. Really beautiful spot.

The hostess was excellent, and our room was comfortable with a view of Lac St. Jean.

A clean, perfect place for a group, though the bathroom is shared.

We were soaked cyclists and campers without a car, standing in the rain for more than two hours even though the mini-cabin we’d rented was ready early. Apparently it was the rule that we had to wait. What a welcome!
