I loved the quiet feel of Rollo Bay Inn, especially watching the sunsets and looking out over the water from the second-floor deck. Jay was so accommodating to my son and me. The room was spacious and clean, and there was fresh coffee all day, plus muffins and fruit in the morning before I headed out. I’d happily recommend staying here if you’re passing through.

Jay came out with a shovel and another person to help free my car when it got stuck in the snow. I was in Souris for a weeklong work trip and didn’t know anyone there, so I called him. I’ve travelled for work and never had hospitality like this at another hotel in NS or PEI. Jay was genuinely humble, and people I spoke with in Souris all appreciated how he treats everyone. I won’t forget this place. Thanks, Jay! 🙏🤝

I arrived around midnight, and with nobody answering about an overnight room in town, I was lucky to find such a welcoming host. It felt like home, even though it was so late. I’d recommend this place to anyone staying in Souris, and I hope I can come back someday.

The rooms felt worn out, and the inn seemed close to the end of its life. The ice machine was broken, the towels were so thin I could see light through them, and the nearest food was 5km away. It was 31c when we got there. The aircon was so old and loud it sounded like a jet engine while we tried to sleep. We arrived at 3.45, after the 3pm check-in, to an empty desk covered in keys and a number to call. We were visiting from abroad and had no phone service, so we waited until the housekeeper showed up and called Jay. In the lobby, she said there were only doubles left and asked if we had booked a twin. I said we’d booked a room for two, trying to defuse the situation. She then offered to show us what was available. The conversation that followed felt out of place in 2025, just after Pride month. We’d booked because we were going to an event at Bay Fortune. Jay said there were no taxis but offered to take us. He wasn’t at the desk when it was time to leave, so we drove there ourselves. I just wouldn’t want to stay here. I don’t understand the reviews here. Jay’s reply starting with “Manchild” was his third response to mine. The first was nasty and homophobic, and if I lived in Canada I would have reported it. After deleting that, his second reply suggested we hadn’t paid. Google took it down after I sent in our credit card receipt, and it was replaced by this review. In his latest reply, he says we could have called down to ask for a better room. As I said in my original review, we were shown several rooms, and this was the best of a bad lot. Across all three replies, he hasn’t addressed my complaints and has attacked me personally. That isn’t professional.

Jay, the owner and manager, really made the stay comfortable and was great about meeting guests’ needs. He also had fresh coffee, snacks, and fruit available 24 hours a day. The setting is lovely, the service is amazing, and it’s peaceful and good for kids. Far and away my favourite place to stay in Eastern PEI. I’d strongly recommend booking here.
