Auberge de la Rivière Matapédia

It was just the two of us, so we got to spend time with André and learn more about him. Our stay was short, but it was exactly what we needed after a long bicycle ride. Dinner was great, we slept well, and the breakfast and coffee in the morning were much appreciated.

The food was delicious, and our room was clean and really nice. We arrived late, lost, and unsure where to go, but Andre was incredibly accommodating and found us a spot at the dinner table even though we hadn't reserved. The cabin and its setting are absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Andre!

We meant to stay one night while passing through Gaspesie, but wound up staying two. It felt like being welcomed into a friend's country home, with hummingbirds, the river nearby, and evenings cooking, barbecuing, and relaxing by the fire together. I'm a keen traveler who likes getting to know local life, and those few nights with Andre were a real pleasure. Coming from Australia, I'd always wanted to try fly fishing, and Andre arranged an early 6 am outing the next day. I learned an art I'd like to keep building on. My wife and I will stay with him again when we're back in Gaspesie. Cheers, mate, see you soon.

Andre was a wonderful host and an amazing cook, and the chalet itself was the most spectacular place I've stayed in a long time. It's absolutely a great place to stay. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area. Thanks, Andre, see you soon.
