Waterfalls Lodge

The restaurant food and service were incredible, and they packed hearty lunches for us to take on the boat each day. The staff were all amazing and listened to suggestions for improvement. My boys and I had a fantastic week, fishing and catching several nice Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass, which we released. The boats were clean, safe, and reliable. Our only concern was low water pressure in the cabin, and management said they were working on it. We came home well rested and already talking about returning next year. My boys were 10 and 8.

The meals included with the All American Plan were delicious, and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. My partner and I loved our cabin for our relaxing three-night stay at Waterfalls Lodge. The porch had a beautiful view, though trimming the bushes and trees would have opened up a better view of the Falls. Hearing the Falls was so relaxing. It was our first visit, and we’ll surely be back.

The location is beautiful, and our cottage was clean with its own dock. The restaurant food was delicious, and the lunch they packed kept us going all day. The few staff members there did a great job, but they were badly understaffed. Since the place changed hands, it has absentee owners and is run by someone who only has a paycheck at stake, in my view. After 6, you’re on your own if something goes wrong until morning. There’s a walkie-talkie by the door for contacting someone, but we got nothing but dead air when we tried it. Take it down if nobody answers. Renting a pontoon was a problem too: it broke down in the middle of the lake, and we ended up back with the manager, who wouldn’t answer his phone. I hesitate to post a negative review and hope they make corrections and turn things around.

It’s a beautiful place, but our restaurant reservation was for 5 and we weren’t served until almost 7. The owners had only one person covering the whole place. She was amazing and did the best she could, but they definitely need more staff.
