Rycroft Hotel

Had a great stay. It’s a family-run place with everything under one roof, and the 24-hour gas station in Rycroft made it easy to fuel up for work. The staff were great and the service was excellent.

The beds were comfortable, the sheets were clean, and we had no trouble with the bar downstairs during our three-night stay. It’s a huge building with a meat store and liquor store, which makes it an interesting place. The main issue was cigarette smoke in the hall from people staying in the rooms over the bar. There’s carpet in the rooms and hallways, and I really dislike carpet in general.

Nov 5, 2020: The new owners have made a big difference. The pub, entrance, liquor store, and convenience store have all been redone and are clean and well kept. I didn’t see the rooms, though I heard they’ve been renovated too. The food was very good, with homemade fries and everything cooked as ordered. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the portions were large, good quality, and reasonably priced. Back in Nov 2017, the pub had cold beer, but the food was expensive and only average at best. It wasn’t great eating, though it did the job. I don’t know what the rooms were like. A few oil patch workers were staying there, even though other places in town had lots of vacancies, but none of those were luxury accommodation. In Sept 2020, we planned to be up there in October and intended to stop in to see what the new owners had changed.

I stayed a couple of nights for a hunting trip. The location was nice, and the front desk woman was really helpful and friendly. The room could use some upgrades, but it was clean and spacious. I’d definitely stay here on my next trip. Thank you 🙏
