Sandstone Motel

For a small-town hotel, it was pretty nice and clean. It’s basic, but I’d stay there again if I’m in the area.

The view was beautiful, with mountain tops and a sky full of stars. The food and location were good too, and the staff in the office and restaurant/lounge were great, day and night. They were extremely accommodating throughout my pleasant stay. Our two rooms were super clean and worked well for what we needed. Being pet friendly was a bonus, and they even gave us a different suited room for our dog. Thanks again for the great service. I’m still here and will be until I head back to my home province, which is a few provinces away.

We’ve stayed here quite a few times, but the latest visit was a letdown. There was no cable TV, so watching sports meant logging into apps, and the TV was hard to work. Even a staff member tried to help, but couldn’t get it sorted. There was no Kleenex or phone in the room either. Apart from those things, everything else was good.

The food was very good, and the prices made sense for the portion sizes. Breakfast service at the attached restaurant was also very good. The waitress was polite and made us feel welcome, though the evening staff were the complete opposite, coming across as rude and making us feel like a bother. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. At the front desk, our cards kept stopping working whenever we left the room, so we had to go back and wait at least five minutes for help each time. On day two, my partner’s card stopped working again right after they reactivated it, so we gave up and used the one card.
