Auberge Valcartier - Par Aneyro

They had a plugin for my school bus, the room was clean, and the service was great.

The pub food was delicious and the servings were a good size, and the staff were very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay at Auberge Valcartier. The outside has a classic design, while inside it feels modern. The color scheme seemed carefully chosen, and everything was very clean.

The room was clean and cute, and everyone on staff was friendly. We also really liked the restaurant downstairs. The only thing that cost it a star was the bed: in room 11, I could feel a spring in my back all night and didn’t sleep comfortably. Apart from that, everything was perfect.

I can only speak about the food, not the hotel. I’ve ordered the pizza twice, and both times it was a huge disappointment. The edge of the crust was thick and doughy, while the center was paper thin and undercooked. The slices fell apart when I tried to pick them up. I went back a second time because I thought the first one might have been a fluke. It wasn’t. This is consistently terrible pizza, and I don’t understand how they keep sending it out. Maybe they haven’t had good pizza themselves, or maybe they just don’t care that people are wasting their money. The Caesar salad was basically mayonnaise soup with bits of lettuce floating in it, way too heavily dressed. Both visits, we also waited 45 minutes for food despite there being hardly any other customers. I’ve read earlier bad reviews too, and the owner seems defensive instead of using customer feedback to improve the food or service. The only thing keeping the place going seems to be the lack of other restaurants nearby.
