Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Waterloo St. Jacobs

The room was comfortable and quiet, and the hotel was clean and peaceful. Staff were friendly, efficient, and professional. The cleaning could use a little more attention to detail, though. There was dried brown liquid running down the bathroom door, some mold around the bathtub, and hair left in the corners of the bathroom floor from previous guests.

They offered us a compassionate rate after we explained why we were staying, which was very considerate. It's a super nice place, with a great continental breakfast and an amazing supper restaurant. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I felt like a burden as soon as we walked in. The clerks didn't speak to us until I said hello. When I had a problem with my Hilton account, the response was basically, “I'm not sure what you want me to do,” rather than an offer to help. A supervisor eventually assisted. The staff came across as extremely cold, rude, and unhelpful, especially the man on the evening shift. I question whether some of them have ever worked in customer service. The rooms had no soundproofing, the front entrance was small and not clean, and the pool had no towels even after other swimmers told staff several times. This was a disappointing experience for a hotel under the Hilton name. If you're traveling to St. Jacobs, stay at one of the other hotels on the strip.

I've stayed at Hampton Inn hotels before, but this was my first time at the Hampton Inn in St Jacobs. The room was huge, easily twice the size of other Hampton Inns I've stayed in. The eatery was good, breakfast was free, and the hallways were quiet. I can't express how much the hotel exceeded my expectations. Thanks for a great experience.
